      • Support searching for parts of API names

Support searching for parts of API names - e.g. index camel cased word parts.

Currently, there are no Results for "NullOrEmpty" - which is just a full part of "IsNullOrEmpty".

It would also be helpful to fuzzily match up names (better than no results): e.g. "isnowhi" should include "String.IsNullOrWhitespace" in the results (ranked below a possible "IsNowhereIncluded" method).

        • When browsing .Net standard, show the minimum version a namespace is introduced

It would be great to be able to see the first/minimum version that a namespace is introduced. This way, if you are browsing and realize that you really only need .Net Standard 1.3 instead of 1.6, for example, you can see that quickly without having to flip back and forth. Alternatively, having a feature comparison chart where 2+ .Net versions are selected and their namespaces are compared would serve the same purpose.

          • Use the learning path approach for more documentation

On the documentation organization\navigation topic, one way of doing the documentation that is used for some product in Azure is the learning map\path (example: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/learning-pat...). I just LOVE that approach, it's visual, it's clear, you know where you are and where you are going, it's task oriented: it's perfect.

            • Search API

Would love an API for programmatically searching for content.

              • Display extension methods in API reference for a class

For example, in the existing MSDN documentation for IEnumerable<T>, we also see all of the extension methods that are defined for that type:

                https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9eekhta0(v=vs.110).aspx

In the new .NET API Browser, the IEnumerable<T> reference only lists the GetEnumerator() method. None of the documentation for IEnumerable<T> says anything about the presence of these extension methods or even links to System.Linq.Enumerable.

                https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable-1

                • expose an end point so third party (IDE etc) can hook into docs

Based on keywords, expose articles in either xml or json so third party apps can integrate documentation.

                  • Allow flagging of comments for spam

There are lots of comments on the site that, whilst not harmful can be dangerous.

                    Take this page for instance:
                    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dotnet/articles/visual-basic/

There are a couple of comments by a user attempting to submit XSS content to the page.

There should be an option to flag such comments as spam.

                    Thanks, Dan

64 is so much better than 16 pixels.

Currently it looks really bad on any high DPI display if you zoom in just a tad. The community will also love you more, since they're now even sharper :)

                      • Search Breadcrumbs

Expose the existing breadcrumbs to search engines:
                        https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/breadcrumbs
                        https://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/markup-breadcrumbs-72419f3f

This clarifies exactly what each page relates to directly from search results, without relying on the URL (which is often truncated) or the page's title.

                        • Won't search short class names

Searching for the GC class doesn't return any results E.g. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/?term=GC If I search https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/?term=System.GC does though. This feels closely related to the "Support searching for parts of API names" request though.

                          • Make the documentation printer-friendly.

The documentation is not currently printer-friendly. While the content can be printed, there is a lot of baggage at the beginning as well as loads of empty pages at the end.

                              • Use Visual Studio colors for code

In code snippets, the methods are colored as classes but shouldn't be, parameter types or types in general are not colored at all. Would be nice if the coloring was consistent with Visual Studio; Roslyn might help with that.

                                • Enable a user to have her/his own area to collect articles, save reading sessions etc

When I go to docs.microsoft.com I'm usually looking at similar and related things every time. Like for instance I might be looking for reference information on XAML and C++ examples or other very specific areas of interest, and that is what I do every time.

It would be nice to have your own area that saves recently read articles, save reading sessions and that present related articles that might be of interest to me specifically.

                                        • Personnel actions FAQs needs correction

This link describes the Personnel actions feature in D365 - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/talent/personnel-actions-faq?toc=dynamics365/unified-operations/fin-and-ops/toc.json
One line needs correction - Note: Personnel actions are available only if the Personnel actions configuration key is selected."

Product group has confirmed that this design has been changed and now the Personnel actions feature is available if the fields “Enable worker actions” and “Enable Position actions” are set to YES (In Human resources - Setup - Human resources shared parameters - Personnel actions tab).
