  1. Support the .NET API Browser as a service and Provide REST API to access it

.NET API Browser https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/ is our one-stop shop for all .NET-based APIs from Microsoft.
We can search for any managed APIs and filter for platform and version using FieFox and internet Explorer.
We are in need to search this service from c# code, but currently we can't get search results from within c# code using httpclient or webclient.

It's nice to support the .NET API Browser https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/ as a service and Provide REST API to get search result as a json string.

    • Wrong Translation

The left menu in english (en-us) have a subsection "Hosting" under "Hosting and deployment".
In french and other languages, the subsection is about "Hosting WPF" which is wrong because this section is about Asp.Net applications

      • Make main content column more wide, improve layout of tables.

Please, improve the layout for tables.
I'm unable to read content on my notebook. (1920px wide high dpi)
Table on this link is cropped on msbuild properties table:
        https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/msbuild/common-msbuild-project-properties

I'm unable to attach screenshot on this site so I've uploaded it to s3 - https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/pic0000/2017/10/zPGGPGc/2017-10-12_23-12-53.png

        • Allow Direct Links to Table Entries + Other Stuff

It would be handy to be able to create links for table entries via the # convention.

For example, I want to send a direct link to "servicePrincipalNames" on this page https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/ad/graph/api/entity-and-complex-type-reference#user-entity

As it stands now I can only direct link to the table heading "User Entity"

          -------------

In general, it would be helpful to be able to send direct links to more than just tables. Please think about it in a Global manner.

            • subscribe to new guides

I'm actively working on Azure AD B2C right now and there are some great guides and the product team is working on more. The problem is when they post a new guide, how would I know? I won't unless I poll the site which is not optimal.

I would like to be alert/email/rss-feed about new guides. I would also like to be alerted about any significant changes in the documentation.

              • Sign in for comments not working

When I try to post a comment using my MSA, I am not fully logged in even though I go through the MSA login experience. I get a 400 error when I do this. I am not able to reply to comments because of this bug.

                • Include Reactive Extensions documentation for .Net Core in docs.microsoft.com

MSDN have documentation on Reactive Extensions (Rx) as can be seen here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh242986(v=vs.103).aspx

Microsoft's new docs.microsoft.com lacks the same API documentation.

Since https://github.com/Reactive-Extensions/Rx.NET is a .Net Foundation project. much like ASP.Net core and others; It's documentation should be included. Especially as it's namespaced under System.

                    • Empty response with paging

We use your search API for website search. We use paging. As number of pages is not accurate and simply predicted, when you click on last page in response we get real last page and results. This is correct. Last page number is lower than a predicted number.

But for some searches we did, the last page was resulting in almost empty response. XML contained a bit of hearer information but no real results at all. This behaviour is inconsistent and looks like a bug on your end. Search results appeared again when we picked a page that was in…

                      • amazing that MS calls "../configuration/windows-diagnostic-data" 'a comprehensive document ...'

Amazing that MS calls "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/windows-diagnostic-data" 'a comprehensive document explaining to users what telemetry data is collected, as I can not understand anything of the junk you put on that page, or be able to compare it with "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/basic-level-windows-diagnostic-events-and-fields" the basic telemetry settings of Win X, and then you dare to say that the Dutch DPA got it all wrong lolz.

All I can say to these documents that seem to be intended to make stuff incomprehensible for the average user and pro alike, is that I have become a happy Linux user ever since you brought…

                        • Map work item states to new one

Hello! In our company we are trying to customize workflow process. It this case we decided to somehow change states of PBI, Task and Bug. In order to do our best we need to remove some default states and add some other. If we do so TFS breaks up after importing new forms because there is disperancy between states, that were in work items initially, and new states. So TFS doesn't know what to do in this case. It would be great if you provide some tool for easy migrations between old and new states, work item types and so…

                          • tree for sublinks within the page

Under the 'in this article' section, only ##'s are shown. I think all headings should be shown. I think it should be a collapsible tree that is collapsed by default.

By defaulting the tree to collapsed the UI will still be clean.

By adding all heading, users can more easily navigate larger documents.

                            • Broken Azure ML Documentation Links

I am trying to access documentation related to web services in Azure ML Studio and all relevant links seem to be broken (They were accessible 3 days back.)

We are working on a deadline and need to get this done with in next 2 days and this is frustrating.

                                • Put "reverse gear" to the hyperlinks

The course is pretty structured and information very well composed and measured. Furthermore, hyperlinks give a fast, precise, good redirection to expand that and only that area of information BUT if you jump 2, 3 or 4 hyperlinks and then you try to go back to the original page and it's difficult to find which one is. If we had a reference which would allow to pick up the thread again fast and easily (Congratulations: it's an excellent technical manual)

                                  • Reintroduce link to original page for translated pages

At least in my language (German) the result of the automatic translation is often really bad, especially regarding the structure of the sentences. To use the popup windows referring to the original page is quite annoying if the complete page is translated badly. In previous versions there were links to the original English page, please reintroduce them. Would help a lot!
                                    Example of bad translation: https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/sql/odbc/reference/syntax/sqlcolumns-function

                                      • Move and update the Windows API documentation to Docs

There are still tons of devs working with the WinAPI, and a lot, like me, who are learning to use it for different purposes: drivers, Windows Internals, etc.

All the Windows API should be migrated to docs and it also should be fully updated with examples.

                                        • Add menu item for IIS on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/

On docs.microsoft.com info related to IIS is only available via Search Bar
                                          or via direct link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/iis/

There should be added a link to IIS documentation on main page (docs.microsoft.com).
