  1. Please provide a class summary table like MSDN had

    Example:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/Windows.UI.Xaml.Controls.Grid
All the inherited members are just a giant unformatted sea of hyperlinks. And for everything implemented by the class, it's a giant scrolling page trying to find anything. Old MSDN had a nicely formatted summary table listing all of the class's members, properties, and events, with hyperlinks and a brief description of the member. It's *incredibly* difficult to now to get an "at a glance" view of what a class actually does.

    • Search needs to have filtering options

Finding the right article is much too hard on docs.microsoft.com. For example, searching for Server Manager (in Windows Server 2016) brings up 36 000+ results, with the first page all about SQL Server. It should now be possible to filter the results based on product so that I get to Win 2016, or whatever.

      • Reintroduce link to original page for translated pages

At least in my language (German) the result of the automatic translation is often really bad, especially regarding the structure of the sentences. To use the popup windows referring to the original page is quite annoying if the complete page is translated badly. In previous versions there were links to the original English page, please reintroduce them. Would help a lot!
        Example of bad translation: https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/sql/odbc/reference/syntax/sqlcolumns-function

          • let me read in english

Is very boring the "Este artigo foi traduzido por máquina. Você pode exibir o texto em inglês em uma janela popup movendo o ponteiro do mouse sobre o texto" feature, I want to read in english.

            • Add better overview

When looking at the uwp documentation compared to good old MSDN i realized that it is hard to get an overview of apis.
If I want to know the methods of a class for example i often have to scroll a lot just to get an overview what methods are defined. A compact list like we have on Namespaces would help. Also I would love to collapse things like examples. Examples are important but to get an overview of the api they are taking up a lot of scrolling space.

Thank you for the feedback! We are currently working on ensuring that the UWP documentation is presented in the same way as other managed APIs on docs.microsoft.com – once the transition is done, we will be able to leverage a better page layout.

              • Improve site navigation

The docs site doesn't feel like a coherent whole. There are too many tabs and menus and many navigate out to different websites. Plus it's always difficult to know how to get back to the root of the site. E.g. i've been clicking around the Docs on Microsoft Edge and now i want to get back to the .NET Core documentation. How do i get there? The Microsoft logo in the top left takes me to Microsoft.com, not docs.microsoft.com. The only way i can see is to retype the URL or click back button maybe a dozen or more times.

                • Add Preview Tab for GitHub Documentation Feedback

When I'm creating issues on docs.microsoft.com does all of markdown goodness work? After submitting another issue, I now see it does but it is not obvious. Where's my preview tab that renders my markdown?!

                  • Fix search and filter and library

A very long time ago, Microsoft documentation was great. How did this docs site get so unbelievably bad? I ran searches for "windows server 2016" backup, windows server backup, etc. and found nothing useful. All that came up was links for SQL Server backup, Active Directory, Hyper-V, security guidelines... everything EXCEPT Windows Server backup?!... The Filter box is also useless - zero results when looking at the Windows Server library. Browsing the library for Windows Server 2016 failed to give me anything about the backup also, except for a command-line reference that explains nothing about backup options... Please fix your…

                    • allow complex searches using "and" and "or"

Trying to find articles which tackle a combination of words is a nightmare here. Trying to find articles which tell me how to dock a window in Visual Studio, I want a combination of "dock" "AND "window" AND "Visual studio". Put even the first two into the search string and you get every single article which has any of these words.

Or is there some refined search engine hiding somewhere?

                      • In the API Browser, MicrosoftEextensions should be documented under .NET Core too

The Microsoft.Extensions libraries appear only under ASP.NET Core although they can be used by any .NET Project. This is confusing developers, as shown in this SO question:

                        https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46914981/why-is-microsoft-extensions-documented-under-asp-net

Please display the Microsoft.Extensions libraries under `.NET Core` as well as `ASP.NET Core`

                        • List Method Overview at Top of Documentation Pages

When accessing class or interface documentation, I am most interested in seeing a summary of available methods first.

In the new layout, I either have to scroll past a lengthy example block, or click a link in the sidebar to jump to the method summary.

Please restore the method overview to its location at the top of documentation pages.

                          • Make it easier to find pages using Google search

Usually when I'm looking for information I'll do a search on Google. For instance when searching a method in the framework API, like "Convert.ChangeType". Currently it will always point to msdn.microsoft.com and it is impossible for me to find the page I want at docs.microsoft.com even when using "site:". It either just doesn't find it or it will be a page not in English. Bing also doesn't show docs.microsoft.com on the first search page.

The API pages on msdn.microsoft.com have a link to docs.microsoft.com but then I have to type the search query again, which is not a good experience.

                            • Cleaner overall experience

Cleaner experience is a nice way of saying it. More to point your experience is a convoluted mess with lazy documentation and less than scrupulous deployment. If I search for information on an update that is taking hours to install I don’t want thousands of whiny opinions and user suggestions from non-Microsoft staff showing off their technical genius or lack thereof. Furthermore, how do you launch a platform to the home and small business market that even allows such a technical background to spend an hour sifting through the fluff. I’m tired of this problem and luckily the budget is…

The filter box replaced the search box in the old ACOM documentation, but the filter box only filters by article title. I want to be able to search the contents of the articles for the service I'm viewing using that box.

                                  • Organize information better

It's horrible. Absolute HORRIBLE ! I couldn't think that microsoft doc is so poorly organized.
I'm trying to learn MVC. I started 2 weeks ago. And resources are awful, outdated (back to 2009), no REAL organization. Just a bunch of how-to-do-this-and-that.
I may be stupid, but not that stupid. After two weeks, i'm able to use just a bunch of classes already declared in bootstrap, HtmlHelper and a few Html i already now.
UI,Layouts and themes category in doc is ALMOST NOTHING. All it does is to show you how to use PageInspector, which isn't even included in VS 2017…

                                      • Include a search box with the search query on the search results page

After searching on the docs, the search result page doesn't include a search box with the search terms to allow me to fine-tune my search based upon the results. This is contrary to Bing, Google, and search experience standards for many years.

                                        • I can not sign into my account, even when providing information.

I think its ridiculous, I now have over three accounts.
That I don't even know why I need them....?
It's becoming harder to remember all the safety "back-up account's" passwords etc.
...Then the safety precaution in the start
...like the account I am about to enter... I can't even access.
