    • Support searching for parts of API names

Support searching for parts of API names - e.g. index camel cased word parts.

Currently, there are no Results for "NullOrEmpty" - which is just a full part of "IsNullOrEmpty".

It would also be helpful to fuzzily match up names (better than no results): e.g. "isnowhi" should include "String.IsNullOrWhitespace" in the results (ranked below a possible "IsNowhereIncluded" method).

      • When browsing .Net standard, show the minimum version a namespace is introduced

It would be great to be able to see the first/minimum version that a namespace is introduced. This way, if you are browsing and realize that you really only need .Net Standard 1.3 instead of 1.6, for example, you can see that quickly without having to flip back and forth. Alternatively, having a feature comparison chart where 2+ .Net versions are selected and their namespaces are compared would serve the same purpose.

        • Offer offline documentation in more formats

While the offline viewing option is great, PDF's "baked in" page format makes reading on mobile devices very cumbersome. I suggest offering downloads in open ePub format for easy reading on mobile devices -- allowing for text reflow, text and margin adjustment, color themes, etc.

          • Display extension methods in API reference for a class

For example, in the existing MSDN documentation for IEnumerable<T>, we also see all of the extension methods that are defined for that type:

            https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9eekhta0(v=vs.110).aspx

In the new .NET API Browser, the IEnumerable<T> reference only lists the GetEnumerator() method. None of the documentation for IEnumerable<T> says anything about the presence of these extension methods or even links to System.Linq.Enumerable.

            https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable-1

            • Fix D2D documentation

D2D should be plain obvious. Tons of interfaces interfaces are missing from content tree and offline help.

              Example:
              – browse the content tree (Desktop technologies /Graphics and Gaming /DirectX /Direct2D /API /Interfaces)
              – notice a ton of interfaces are missing in the first place (mostly the original interfaces, but now that I look closely, ID2D1Bitmap1 is missing, too; its a mess …)
              – click ID2D1DeviceContext1 => available offline
              – follow the link to ID2D1DeviceContext => missing, resolved online
              – if you look for ID2D1DeviceContext in the index you can get to some of the methods (available offline), but not to…

              • Bring back the "Version information" section in documentation pages

MSDN docs have a "Version information" section which says in which version a type or member was introduced. This is important information and should be included on the new site.

                • Give me the option to hide navigation panes

The current doc format has 2 navigation panes on the sides and the content in the center. I use sometime the nav. pane on the left but never the one on the right so i'd like the option to hide it since it makes the center section (with the core content) too narrow.
The ideal would be the option to hide both so that if user want he can focus just on the content and have all the space dedicated to it. Thanks

                  • Use short well know type names

Right now Monitor.Wait is displayed as:

                    Monitor.Wait(System.Object,System.Int32,System.Boolean)

Much easier to read version would be:
                    Monitor.Wait(object, int, bool)

                    • Please provide à custom scrollbar for dark theme

The native scrollbar may be light and high contrast with the background. It's quite disturbing.

                      • Include the entire existing MSDN documentation for .NET

Because this API browser was announce to be 'All .NET documentation - in one place' (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/teamblog/announcing-unified-dotnet-experience-on-docs) I would suggest to include in it also the existing documentation from MSDN, that we use daily, including older .NET versions like .NET 3.5 and 4.0 and various platforms (Compact Framework, Silverlight, Windows Phone etc..).

Otherwise, the .NET Framework API documentation will become even more fragmented and hard to find.

                        • Support the .NET API Browser as a service and Provide REST API to access it

.NET API Browser https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/ is our one-stop shop for all .NET-based APIs from Microsoft.
We can search for any managed APIs and filter for platform and version using FieFox and internet Explorer.
We are in need to search this service from c# code, but currently we can't get search results from within c# code using httpclient or webclient.

It's nice to support the .NET API Browser https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/ as a service and Provide REST API to get search result as a json string.

                          • Won't search short class names

Searching for the GC class doesn't return any results E.g. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/?term=GC If I search https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/?term=System.GC does though. This feels closely related to the "Support searching for parts of API names" request though.

                            • To add the following explanation to the Sales tax payment

                              On this page - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/operations/financials/general-ledger/round-sales-tax-payments
We need to add the below explanation to clarify to users that the Update field which was present in all previous versions of AX has not been deprecated.
Sales tax payment was split into two entry points for better segregation of duties. You can run "Report sales tax for settlement period" to have sales tax payment run without GL transactions generated (legacy "Update" checkbox unchecked) and "Settle and post sales tax" to run it with GL update (legacy "Update" checkbox checked). Both are located in Tax > Declarations > Sales tax menu.

                              • Make the documentation printer-friendly.

The documentation is not currently printer-friendly. While the content can be printed, there is a lot of baggage at the beginning as well as loads of empty pages at the end.

                                      • Make the docs more interactive (as Xamarin workbook)

It would be great if the docs could be a little bit more interactive as Xamarin workbooks. Making the documentation exportable to Xamarin workbooks would be interesting for example.

The nicest thing would be that the examples on the documentation could be directly executed on the website.

                                        • Include Reactive Extensions documentation for .Net Core in docs.microsoft.com

MSDN have documentation on Reactive Extensions (Rx) as can be seen here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh242986(v=vs.103).aspx

Microsoft's new docs.microsoft.com lacks the same API documentation.

Since https://github.com/Reactive-Extensions/Rx.NET is a .Net Foundation project. much like ASP.Net core and others; It's documentation should be included. Especially as it's namespaced under System.
